ThePhotogPlan vs Timeline Pro

Timeline Pro is a native app you install, sign into, and fill with your own reusable templates. ThePhotogPlan is a browser tool that writes the first draft for you. The real choice is between a polished app you maintain and a generator you don't.

Short answer

ThePhotogPlan writes the first draft for you: enter the ceremony time and coverage hours and a full timeline and shot list appear, in any browser, with no app to install and no account. Timeline Pro is a native iOS and Android app built around templates you create and maintain yourself, and it does not publish its pricing. If you want a working plan before you have built a template — and a price you can check before signing up — start here.

Nothing to download — this runs in the tab you already have open.

Why photographers choose ThePhotogPlan

What ThePhotogPlan does not do

It is a web app, not a native one, and it does not collect client comments in-app or render separate vendor-only versions of the timeline. If an installed app or in-app client approvals are hard requirements for you, Timeline Pro covers those and we do not.

How to decide in one question

Ask what you want to be handed. A template app gives you a place to keep a timeline you have already worked out. A generator gives you the timeline. If you have a house structure you have refined over years, either will hold it. If you want a sound default for a 4:00 PM ceremony with six hours of coverage, one of them produces it in ten seconds — and trying it takes less time than installing an app.

How this was checked: Timeline Pro's platforms, features and pricing model were read from timelineproapp.com and its app store listings on 4 October 2026. Their site refers to “4 affordable plan options” without publishing prices, so no figure is quoted for them here — check the app for current pricing. Rows marked “not stated” mean the vendor does not publish that detail, not that the feature is absent. If anything here is out of date, email support@thephotogplan.com and it will be corrected.
